Mount "Oh My God" Evans

So my bestest friend, Lisa, came to visit us this weekend. Friday after work and a tasty lunch at Pearl Street Grill (who no longer offers white Sangria - sad, sad day) we went downtown and walked around, went to a vodka bar, went to some cool shops (a doggie boutique was our fave) and had dinner at Fado's. Saturday I spent most of the day attending Denver Pet Partners (check out the website, we're now listed as a team, yeah!) "mini-sessions" so we had lunch at Udi's and then went to the Dean's for dinner. Sunday we had lunch and then drove up to the mountains. Our first stop was the Evergreen Lake House (where we (me and Dave, not me and Lisa) got married) and Zeke, Lisa and I went for a walk around the lake. Then we continued on to Mt. Evans to make the trek up the highest paved road in North America. If you have never done this before, I HIGHLY recommend it. It was like no other road I've been on and it is especially entertaining if you go with someone that is slightly afraid of heights. I lost count of how many times Lisa said "oh my god!" But she was not only saying it out of fear, she was also saying it out of awe as was I. It is truly amazing. We topped off the weekend with dinner at The Cherry Tomato. Thanks Lisa, we had a great weekend!!

Before we saw these mountain goats we saw another pair with a youngin' off to the right of the car. I slowed down but then I noticed one was running up the hill towards the car and I yelled "he's charging us" as I stepped on the gas and Lisa quickly rolled her window up. Did we overreact? Absolutely. Did I really think he was going to ram the car and did Lisa really think he was going to jump through the window to join her in the front seat?

Yes, this is snow inside the building (and we weren't even close to the summit yet).

See that tiny speck in the middle of the picture? Yes, that one. That's a dude skiing. Lisa and I were jealous...
