My knee has been bothering me lately (okay, so for like the last 5 years) but about a month ago I was kneeling down in my garden and I stood up and something had happened where I couldn't straighten my left leg and I couldn't really put pressure on it either (but it didn't hurt, thankfully). I later learned that the technical term for this is "locked up". In Sara's terms it is "what the hell?". Then it happened a couple more times that day and all I was doing was walking when it happened (and it's happened several times since then so I have to be sure not to squat down and not walk too fast...oh joy). I finally call my doctor and the earliest he can see me is in 3 1/2 weeks (did I mention that he's the Avs doctor and at this particular time they are in the playoffs so he's traveling with the team?). So I just had my appointment on Wednesday and it turns out I have a torn meniscus and I have to have surgery. :( So June 26th it is. Seeing as how I've never had a broken bone or any type of surgery...this should be interesting for two reasons: 1) I'm a whimp and 2)I'm slightly hypochondriatic (I think I just made up that word).
