Adventures in Traveling, Part II

Ha, ha, ha...silly me. I was hoping not to make traveling nightmares an annual posting. I was getting WAY ahead of myself, let's go with bi-annual (for now anyway). I was supposed to leave Syracuse at 5:20 PM today and arrive in Denver at 10:38 PM via JFK. My flight to JFK was cancelled and the earliest they can get me out of here is 6:00 AM on Tuesday! What the?? Let's look at the bright side: 1) Mr. Monkey and I are at my parent's house, able to stay in a comfy bed instead of being stuck in an airport with uncomfortable chairs with silly armrests poking you in the back when you try to lay down and get some shut eye. 2) Hmm, well, I can't really think of any other "bright" side right now. I miss my husband! I miss our dog! Did I mention tomorrow is my husband's 40th birthday (yes, 40th...I know, I can't believe it either)?? And there is a super important thing going on at work and poor Chris will be the only one there to deal with 60+ new students and their families.

Things I've learned about traveling by air:
1) In the spring/summer months, book all flights in the morning. Afternoon thunderstorms will always roll in and they will always ground planes.
2) Cities on my "do not fly through" list: NYC and Chicago...these two have been banned.
