July Fourth Fun

I've been a blogger slacker! Okay let's go all the way back to July 4th weekend. Every year the Couches go to the horse races...yes, there is a horse track in Colorado (probably more than one in fact), I couldn't believe it myself as I've never heard of it before. Before you start picturing what this track might be like, let's not get carried away and picture Churchill Downs or even Saratoga Springs for that matter. No, let's cross to the other end of the classy spectrum and picture cowboy boot wearin', beer guzzlin', nacho eatin' fun. This is definitely more up my ally than those hoity-toity snobby people at those "other" tracks. Anywho, I was finally able to go with them this year (Dave unfortunately had to work...why must summer be his busiest season I ask?). We stayed for all nine races and only ONE of us won any money (and it wasn't much at that, not even enough to pay for those nachos). Regardless, we had a lot of fun and I sure learned a lot about horse racing (well obviously not *a lot* since I didn't win any money). I'm looking forward to next year and a new strategy.
