Hawk Eye

We have more wildlife in our neighborhood. A pair of hawks had taken up residence in a tree across the street over the summer. About two months ago their babies started flying around and Amy saw four birds total. They have since left the neighborhood (or so we thought...Amy saw one today). It was great to see the youngen's practicing their swooping and diving.

I never could tell the "babies" from the parents. 7/31/09: This one decided to take a bath in the water running down the street.

8/9/09: This is a parent and a "baby" on a telephone pole in our back yard. The parent was teaching the "baby" how to hunt. Amy and Dave saw them once with a snake in it's mouth. Gooooo hawk! Amy thinks they are Sharp Shinned hawks.
