My 32nd birthday is turning out to be memorable (but not for good reasons). Let's start with last Thursday. Amy wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday so I decided to go to Dazzle (my favorite jazz bar) since she had never been. Great conversation, good food, good drinks, all in all - we're thoroughly enjoying ourselves. When we were walking to the car Amy says "Sara...where's my car?". Folks, have you ever known someone who has had their car towed out of a parking lot? Well now you have! Yep, parked in a lot that said for these customers only (Dazzle was not listed). We thought since they were all daytime businesses surely we were okay. Thought wrong. $165 and a day later, Amy has her car back.
Skip ahead a week (maybe it's Thursdays that are doing me in) and I'm all excited because I'm supposed to be leaving on a jet plane to NYC in less than 24 hours when Vonda emails saying that her flight has been canceled. Cheryl and I were on the 6:00 am flight and Vonda was on the 8:00 am flight. Since the weatherpeople issued a winter storm warning (and they've never wrong right?), United (the devil airline) went ahead and canceled Vonda's flight. Not wanting to go without her, Cheryl and I canceled our flights. Weather update: it's currently raining. I better wake up to two feet of snow tomorrow morning!
