Charlotte/Florida

Wow, I'm such a slacker. So way back in February I went to our Charlotte campus for work and then took a detour to Florida before coming home.

Charlotte is a gorgeous city and I imagine it's even more spectacular in the spring/summer when everything is so green. I definitely experienced southern hospitality as everyone was nice and accommodating. Even the people in the hotel room next to me shut up immediately after I banged on the wall at 1:30 AM. My only complaint was that it was cold. Uncharacteristically cold! The whole Atlantic seaboard from Maryland down was getting more snow than usual and was colder than normal. In Florida it was only in the 50's and it even snowed in the panhandle while I was there. Apparently all 48 contiguous states received snow this year!

Got a little R&R in Florida with my aunts and uncles. Mum and I even crossed paths for a couple days. While it was freezing, I still got a walk in on the beach and even stuck my toe in the water (I don't recommend that). We ate some great Greek food at the Greek Orthodox church festival behind my aunt's house. The hot tub was much appreciated and the only other thing I did was watch the Olympics. Oh, I did go to the shooting range again.

Uncle Joe showing me how it's done.

Me showing Joe how it's done.

Mum is smiling on the outside but stricken with fear on the inside.
