Firefighters, Flowers and Fun

Considering we got a pretty good snow storm a few days before Halloween, the day/evening turned out to be very enjoyable indeed. I went with Amy and the kids to get pumpkins (October was so busy for both of us we never did go patchin' this year). Then I went trick-or-treating with Amy and Brewer (Julia fell asleep right before Amy went to put her flower costume on so Dave went over to stay home with her). Then we helped Brewer carve his pumpkins. I did not end up carving mine but did seed it the next day...first time I've ever made pumpkin seeds and I quite liked them.

There's a few things I want to point out in this picture. 1) The cute baby (not that that needed pointing out of course); 2) How skinny Amy is (I haven't asked but I'm pretty darn sure she's down to her pre-Brewer weight!); and 3) that guy in the background with the goofy hat. This guy is destined to be a salesman. He hovered over us pretty much the entire time. I'm not sure if he thought we looked like thieves and were going to take off with a pumpkin or if they work on commission (those are the only two reasons I can think of for hovering at a pumpkin patch). Anyway, he was super nice but geesh.

Okay, here's something I can't quite figure out. I have a small head. So small in fact that just two days ago I tried on my friend's 3 year old's ski helmet...and it FIT (granted it was snug but it fit!). So my question is: why does my head always look so big when I take a close-up?? I hate it! You might be nice and say it's b/c I'm sitting next to a 3 year old but remember? We wear the same size helmet!! I kind of look like one of those pictures where you super-impose a head on someone else's body. Ick.
