Land of the Old People

I had to go to Florida for work the first week in February so I tacked on a few vacation days and went to see my family in Sarasota. Our hotel in North Miami was right on the beach. I got there at night so didn't know what kind of view I had from my room. I woke up the next morning and after spending some time getting ready I decided to open the curtains. It took my breath away...I just love the ocean. I thought "how bad can my Monday really be when it starts out like this."

This was sunrise a couple days later. Yes, I was actually awake to see the sun rise.

I got to take a stroll on the beach...probably one of my favorite all time things to do. The weather was nice in Miami...a little on the chilly side for this time of year but it was still nice.

On the 4th I flew to the gulf coast to visit my Aunt Caroline, Uncle Sandy, Aunt Jessica, Uncle Joe and cousin Ryan. I had a great time relaxing and visiting. I got to spend some quality time with Ryan which I very much enjoyed. Hot tubbed it one day and we got to the cabana on Saturday when it finally reached the 70's (and got to go on another walk on the beach). The highlight of the trip was going to the indoor shooting range with Joe and Ryan. I shot a .25 and a .38 (that one I only shot once...it about knocked me on my ass). Annie Oakley ain't got nothin' on me.
