It's Always Something

I swear when I created this blog I didn't intend for it to be all about Zeke but I can't not share this. So I'm relaxing at home tonight, reading a book (again, minding my own business) and I let Zeke out to "get some fresh air". When I let him in, it's obvious he has rolled in poop (as he does on a rare occasion...never his own though, always some other animal's waste). But he doesn't smell like poop, he smells like skunk! Who knew that skunk's poop smells just like their spray! So into the tub we go to get a bath...hopefully he learned his lesson. Roll in poop = bath. So not sure what it'll be tomorrow but apparently we chose a dog that chooses to keep us on our toes.

By the way, the smell DID come out thankfully. And now that I'm not busy trying to wash a dog I'm wondering why a skunk chose our back yard as it's bathroom...why aren't the foxes killing it? Another sidebar...our neighbor said she saw a coyote in the park near our house the other night. So let's see, that's a skunk wandering the 'hood, a racoon family in our drainage ditch at the end of the street, a fox family in our backyard, and now apparently a coyote. The food chain keeps growing!

Wow, I thought our neighborhood was interesting! By the way, the new neighbor next door is being evicted by the bank. He was renting from someone who said he was the owner of the property but wasn't!
